The Kent Scouts organisation already had a WordPress based website and needed someone to customise it by building a fully functional booking system to collect the details of all the attending participants from around the world.
By selecting and installing a few plug-ins and writing lots of PHP and JavaScript I have managed to create a booking system that:
- Collects Group/Unit name and contact details
- Collects all the required personal details for each participant.
- Collects disability, medical and activity consent data.
- Allows the participants to indicate which field trips they want to do
- Allows the participants to indicate whether they want the early bird or standard fees
- Works out and tracks the Deposit required and Full amount required.
- Export the participant data for a 3rd party company to print custom wristbands
- Manage lists of Service Team volunteers, their preferred roles and actual assignments
- Print invoices for payments by Cheque or with BACS instructions.
- PayPal payments were also integrated but disabled (Kent Scouts choice, they weren’t happy with the PayPal percentage.
- Group Reports, Activity Reports, Finance reports: Who’s paid, Who has not etc.
